Trainer and Assessors

Silverstone is seeking experienced Production Mining Trainer & Assessors to support a major ramp-up project with a tier 1 mining company. This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing and mentoring a new workforce while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
Working closely with site leadership, you will be responsible for onboarding, training, assessing and coaching operators across a range of mobile mining equipment.
About the Role Reporting to the Training Superintendent, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering site inductions and equipment familiarisations
- Conducting VOCs, assessments and competency sign-offs
- Coaching and mentoring operators in the field
- Supporting new-to-industry operators through structured development plans
- Identifying skill gaps and implementing improvement strategies
- Maintaining accurate training records and documentation
- Promoting a positive safety culture and leading by example
- Working collaboratively with supervisors and operational leaders to achieve workforce capability targets
About You To be successful, you will possess:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Current driver’s licence
- Demonstrated experience as a Trainer & Assessor within open pit mining
- Strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with operators of varying experience levels
- Commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
