Silverstone is seeking a fixed plant experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team at a well-established gold operation in the gold fields. This is a hands-on role focused on preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance across surface, processing and fixed plant equipment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting shutdowns, and contributing to a strong safety and team culture.
 
About the Role

  • Carrying out routine and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant assets and associated infrastructure
  • Preventative maintenance across gold processing and paste plants, crushers, mills, cranes, TSF, non-process infrastructure, village and workshop
  • Assisting with preparation and execution of major plant shutdowns
  • Completing JSAs/SWPs prior to task execution
  • Working closely with Production to maximise plant availability and performance
  • Identifying and reporting opportunities for plant and reliability improvements
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and equipment readiness 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering Mechanical (Fitting/Machining) – Australian recognised 
  • Minimum 2+ years post-trade experience in mining ideally within a processing plant environment
  • High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Crane, Dogging, Rigging)
  • Working at Heights and Confined Space (highly regarded)
  • Basic/Intermediate Scaffolding ticket (desirable)
  • Current unencumbered C Class WA Driver’s Licence
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Experience using maintenance systems such as Pronto or SAP
  • Competency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
  • A strong commitment to safety and teamwork
