Underground Electrician

• Up to $85 Per Hour + Super on All Hours

Silverstone is actively seeking an experienced fixed plant Underground Electrician to cater to our clients’ requirements in the thriving WA mining and resources sector. This opportunity will commence on contract, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position.

Reporting to the Underground Electrical Supervisor, responsibilities of the position will include but not limited to:

• Repairs, maintenance, and installation of motors, VSDs, transformers, starter panels, RMUs, lighting, substations, dewatering systems, ventilation fans, and instrument systems across fixed plant and underground assets.
• Maintain and update electrical schematics, logs and maintenance records
• Using testing equipment to locate faults, analyse failures, and implement preventative measures.
• Ensure all electrical maintenance and installation work complies 
• Maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Troubleshooting leaky feeder communication
• Performing statutory testing and inspections on all electrical distribution systems
• Electrical and instrument fault finding
• RCT Experience

Requirements:

• WA Unrestricted Electrical Licence
• Underground mining electrical experience 
• High Voltage Switching Ticket (desirable)
• Instrumentation certificate (desirable)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Sound knowledge of Australian electrical and mining safety regulations
• Strong fault finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• WA ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
• Strong safety focus and problem-solving skills
• Full Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical 
• National Police Clearance within 12 months

This is a technically diverse and hands-on role that will keep you challenged and will lead to a permanent role if you wish.Successful applicants would be required to provide contactable reference’s and be able to meet Pre-employment medical and drug screen criteria prior to commencement.
