The Opportunity
Silverstone is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join an established maintenance team supporting a lithium mining operation in Western Australia. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary fixed plant maintenance crew, you will be responsible for maintaining and fault-finding electrical, instrumentation and control equipment to support safe, efficient and reliable plant operations.
This is a FIFO from Perth opportunity operating on an 8:6 day shift / 7:7 night shift roster. We’re paying $90 – $95/hr + Super (Paid on all hours), the rate is based on experience.
About the Role
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive electrical and instrumentation maintenance across fixed processing plant equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical, instrumentation, control and automation faults and identifying the root cause of equipment failures.
- Supporting electrical isolations, permits and associated site safety processes.
- Conducting inspections and functional checks of electrical equipment, including interlocks and associated mechanical components.
- Completing maintenance work orders accurately and to a high standard using PRONTO.
- Ensuring materials and spare parts are correctly recorded and allocated against work orders.
- Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with relevant legislation, site procedures and electrical standards.
- Working collaboratively with other maintenance disciplines to minimise equipment downtime and achieve maintenance targets.
- Identifying potential hazards and actively contributing to a safe working environment.
- Communicating improvement opportunities and practical ideas to supervisors and the broader maintenance team.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping across work areas.
- Following site safety systems, procedures and Life Saving Rules at all times.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:
- Current WA A-Grade Electrical Licence.
- Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation.
- Current High Voltage Switching qualification/ticket.
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.
- Current EWP ticket.
- Current CPR and LV Rescue certification.
- Current WA Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated experience working on fixed processing plant, preferably within mining or mineral processing.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
- A strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
- A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
- PRONTO and Microsoft Office experience will be highly regarded.
Site Requirements
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Complete a full site medical and meet the required fitness-for-work standards.
- Provide a current National Police Clearance.
- Meet all relevant site, safety and mobilisation requirements.
