HV Cable Electrician

Silverstone are seeking an experienced HV Cable Electrician to join our team doing installation, jointing, termination, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage underground cable systems across major utility, mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.

Duties:

• Jointing and terminating HV underground polymeric cables.
• Maintaining, inspecting and repairing HV cable systems and associated infrastructure.
• Performing cable testing, fault finding and diagnostics.
• Ensuring all work complies with electrical safety standards, site procedures and isolation requirements.
• Working collaboratively with the site electrical and maintenance teams.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing required documentation.
• Promoting a strong safety culture in a mining environment.

Key Requirements:

• A-Grade WA Electrical Licence
• Minimum 2 years of mining or heavy industrial experience
• Hold a recognised qualification in Jointing, Terminating and Maintaining High Voltage (HV) Underground Polymeric Cable within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI).
• Demonstrated experience in HV underground cable jointing, terminations and cable maintenance.
• Experience installing, jointing, terminating and testing HV cables on new installations.
• Competent in fault repairs, cable replacement, re-jointing and re-terminating existing HV underground cables.
• Experience conducting testing and inspections on de-energised HV cables in accordance with industry standards and safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of HV safety requirements, isolation procedures and relevant ESI standards.
• White Card
• Current driver’s licence 
• Current First Aid, CPR & LVR
• Ability to pass a pre-employment mining medical and drug & alcohol test
• Full Australian working rights
