Geology Technician

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geology Technician to join a Geology team on an 8/6 roster starting early November.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous site-based geology experience who enjoys hands-on fieldwork and supporting drilling and exploration activities.

Working alongside the Geology team, you will provide technical and operational support across core processing, sampling, QAQC, drill site preparation and general field activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing diamond core meter marking, photography, cutting and sample collection in line with processing priorities.
• Supporting RC drilling operations, including sample collection and processing.
• Ensuring diamond core is accurately catalogued, organised and stored in the core farm.
• Assisting with drill site preparation and rehabilitation activities.
• Completing drill collar mark-ups and recording GPS coordinates.
• Maintaining geological data and records using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Providing general operational support to the Geology team as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Geology Technician or in a similar role, ideally with at least six months of relevant site experience.
• A current Western Australian manual C-Class driver’s licence.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent numeracy skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to plan and prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and site procedures.

Desirable qualifications and experience:

• Current approved and recognised telehandler ticket.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• 4WD operation and recovery skills.
