HD Fitters

Silverstone is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join a high-performing maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work on a long-term project, working with a modern mining fleet in a supportive team environment.

The Opportunity:

Operating on a FIFO 2:1 (1 week of days, 1 week of nights) roster 1 hour flight time from Perth or DIDO is also available. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of mobile mining equipment, ensuring maximum fleet availability and reliability across site operations. The role offers a mix of workshop and field-based maintenance activities, including planned servicing, breakdown response, diagnostics, and component change-outs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining and earthmoving equipment
• Complete planned servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities
• Carry out breakdown repairs and fault-finding to minimise equipment downtime
• Undertake component replacements and rebuild activities as required
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
• Work collaboratively within a close-knit maintenance team

To be successful, you will possess:

• Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Previous experience maintaining mining or heavy earthmoving equipment
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working on CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, or similar mobile plant
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police clearance
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
