Dewatering Fitter (Pump)

Silverstone is seeking a fixed plant experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong dewatering/pump experience to join the surface maintenance team at a well-established gold operation in the gold fields.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair dewatering systems (diesel and electric pumps)
  • Work on Xylem and Godwin pump systems
  • Monitor and maintain pipelines, valves and associated infrastructure
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing
  • Troubleshoot faults and respond to breakdowns efficiently
  • Assist with pump moves, line installs and pit dewatering setups
  • Follow site safety procedures including permits and isolations
  • Complete work orders, reports and maintenance documentation
  • Liaise with operations to ensure continuous water management  

Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Australian recognised)
  • Proven experience in mine site dewatering
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, pipework and fluid transfer systems
  • Strong fault-finding and breakdown maintenance skills
  • Solid understanding of safety, permits and isolations
  • Current manual driver’s licence
  • Able to pass medical and drug and alcohol screening  
  • National Police Clearance

Desirable

  • Experience in open pit gold operations
  • HR licence, forklift or rigging/dogging tickets
