Client:

Our client is Top-Tier Gold producer within the Kalgoorlie Region.

This is a site-based position working on 8/6 day shift only rotation FIFO ex Perth.

The Processing Trainer & Assessor reports to the Processing Manager and the primary role is to provide training and development to personnel within the Processing Department and to support in the development, review, and delivery of non-accredited and accredited training programs in line with company standards and procedures.
 
Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and report workplace hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions, ensuring compliance with all safety, health and environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in OHS improvement processes, safety meetings and communication systems, including developing and maintaining safety meeting presentations and records.
  • Coordinate and support incident investigations while promoting responsible environmental management, pollution prevention and waste minimisation.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to ensure role competencies, procedures and compliance requirements accurately reflect the work being undertaken.
  • Maintain the department training and skills competency matrix, personnel training records and a training requirements register to ensure all targets and compliance obligations are met.
  • Ensure personnel complete all site and corporate training requirements in a timely manner, including role-specific compliance training such as Working at Heights.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, update and convert Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to procedures, and deliver department-specific and site inductions as required.

 
Required skills and experience:

  • 3 years experience in the mining industry, predominantly in a processing environment
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Proven experience in process plant operation and maintenance with relevant mobile plant high risk licenses and tickets
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Australian Drivers License
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, INX Leaning Management System
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all training related tasks
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
