Silverstone is seeking a fixed plant experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong dewatering/pump experience to join the surface maintenance team at a well-established gold operation in the gold fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair dewatering systems (diesel and electric pumps)
- Work on Xylem and Godwin pump systems
- Monitor and maintain pipelines, valves and associated infrastructure
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing
- Troubleshoot faults and respond to breakdowns efficiently
- Assist with pump moves, line installs and pit dewatering setups
- Follow site safety procedures including permits and isolations
- Complete work orders, reports and maintenance documentation
- Liaise with operations to ensure continuous water management
Skills and Experience
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Australian recognised)
- Proven experience in mine site dewatering
- Strong knowledge of pumps, pipework and fluid transfer systems
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown maintenance skills
- Solid understanding of safety, permits and isolations
- Current manual driver’s licence
- Able to pass medical and drug and alcohol screening
- National Police Clearance
Desirable
- Experience in open pit gold operations
- HR licence, forklift or rigging/dogging tickets
