Silverstone Recruitment is seeking experienced Exploration Drill Fitters for a long-term, temp to perm opportunity with a highly regarded owner-operated gold operation in WA.
The Role:
Working from a mobile maintenance workshop, you’ll play a key role in keeping a fleet of exploration drill rigs operating safely, reliably and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for planned maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response and field repairs, with drill sites located within close proximity to the main operation. The fleet includes a range of established exploration drill rigs, providing plenty of variety for an experienced fitter who enjoys being hands-on and solving problems in the field.
Duties will include:
- Planned servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs on Diamond and/or RC drill rigs including UDR1000, Hydco 350, Austex 350, Hanjin or Schramm 685
- Breakdown response and field-based troubleshooting
- Inspections and condition monitoring
- Supporting drill crews to maximise equipment availability
- Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and reliability
- Working closely with the wider maintenance and operations teams
To be successful in the role, you’ll have:
- Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitting or HD Mechanical trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience maintaining exploration drill rigs Diamond and/or RC drill rigs including one or more of the following rigs: UDR1000, Hydco 350, Austex 350, Hanjin or Schramm 685
- Previous mining or related industry experience
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Current Australian manual driver’s licence
- HR licence highly regarded
- Your own tools
- Strong commitment to safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Current National Police Clearance
- Full Australian working rights
The Offer:
- $115 – $120/hr + Super paid on all hours temp to perm role
- 2:2 roster – day shift only, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie
