Finance Officer

Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking for more than just processing invoices?

This is an opportunity to join a growing global business where you’ll play a key role across the finance function, work closely with senior leadership, and have genuine ownership of a diverse range of financial activities.

Based in Subiaco, this permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to work across operations in Australia, New Zealand and Canada, giving you valuable international exposure while remaining hands-on with the day-to-day finance function.

As Finance Officer, you’ll be an integral part of the finance team, supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the business’s financial and administrative functions.
You’ll take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities including:

• Managing accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and supplier payments
• Processing Australian payroll and maintaining accurate employee payroll records
• Completing bank, credit card and account reconciliations
• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger entries
• Supporting month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Managing company expenses, approvals and supporting documentation
• Assisting with audit preparation and maintaining strong financial controls
• Working with internal and external stakeholders across multiple global entities
• Using Xero and Hubdoc to manage and maintain financial information
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and financial controls
• Supporting finance projects and wider business initiatives as required

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and commercially minded, with the confidence to take ownership of their work and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.

You’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years’ experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts or Finance Administration role
• Strong experience with Xero – essential
• Demonstrated experience processing Australian payroll
• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory requirements
• Strong AP/AR, reconciliation and financial administration experience
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas and financial data analysis
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience within a consultancy or project environment is highly regarded, but not essential
