Silverstone is seeking an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor to join a well-established underground gold operation in Western Australia. This is a FIFO 2/2 opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate, excellent site facilities and the potential to transition into a permanent position.
About the Role Reporting to the Underground Manager, you will be responsible for safely leading underground crews to deliver daily production targets while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead underground mining crews across shift operations
- Perform statutory duties in accordance with the WA WHS Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations
- Coordinate daily underground production including development, stoping, ground support and mine services
- Execute daily and short-term mine plans safely and efficiently
- Promote a strong safety culture through hazard identification and risk management
- Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and shift handovers
- Complete shift reports, production records and incident reports
- Liaise with Technical Services, Maintenance and Surface Operations to ensure production targets are achieved
- Coach and mentor underground operators
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful you will have:
- Previous experience as an Underground Shift Supervisor within WA underground mining
- Current WA Underground Shift Supervisor’s Certificate (essential)
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Qualification
- Strong leadership, planning and communication skills
- Sound understanding of underground mining equipment and processes
- Experience using Microsoft Office and exposure to Pronto and/or INX (desirable)
- Current WA Manual C Class Driver’s Licence
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (preferred)
- Senior First Aid and Working at Heights (desirable)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and National Police Clearance
