HV Cable Electrician
Silverstone are seeking an experienced HV Cable Electrician to join our team doing installation, jointing, termination, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage underground cable systems across major utility, mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects.
Duties:
- Jointing and terminating HV underground polymeric cables.
- Maintaining, inspecting and repairing HV cable systems and associated infrastructure.
- Performing cable testing, fault finding and diagnostics.
- Ensuring all work complies with electrical safety standards, site procedures and isolation requirements.
- Working collaboratively with the site electrical and maintenance teams.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing required documentation.
- Promoting a strong safety culture in a mining environment.
Key Requirements:
- A-Grade WA Electrical Licence
- Minimum 2 years of mining or heavy industrial experience
- Hold a recognised qualification in Jointing, Terminating and Maintaining High Voltage (HV) Underground Polymeric Cable within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI).
- Demonstrated experience in HV underground cable jointing, terminations and cable maintenance.
- Experience installing, jointing, terminating and testing HV cables on new installations.
- Competent in fault repairs, cable replacement, re-jointing and re-terminating existing HV underground cables.
- Experience conducting testing and inspections on de-energised HV cables in accordance with industry standards and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of HV safety requirements, isolation procedures and relevant ESI standards.

- Current First Aid, CPR & LVR
- Ability to pass a pre-employment mining medical and drug & alcohol test

Do I need previous industry experience?
Yes. Silverstone specialises in recruiting experienced professionals. Most of our roles require relevant industry experience, licences, tickets and the ability to work safely in operational environments.
While entry level opportunities may occasionally become available, they are very limited. If you’re looking to start a career in FIFO or enter the industry without relevant experience, we recommend gaining industry qualifications, licences or transferable experience before applying for specialised roles.
