Fixed Plant Electrician
Silverstone are currently recruiting a Fixed Plant Electrician for one of our gold mining clients. This is a FIFO role from Perth on a 15/13 roster, with an immediate start available.
As a Fixed Plant Electrician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems across the gold processing plant and associated infrastructure. You’ll work within a supportive and safety-focused team environment to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with site standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance, breakdown repairs, and installations on fixed plant equipment (processing plant, crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, etc.)
- Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on electrical systems and instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and site safety procedures
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks in line with schedules
- Assist with commissioning and project work as required
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Requirements:
- Valid WA Electrical Licence
- Current CPR/LVR certification
- Previous experience in maintaining a mining processing plant (gold plant is preferred)
- High regard for safety and hazard awareness
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience with HV switching (preferred but not essential)
- Instrumentation experience (advantageous)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and site inductions
- Ability to get a national police clearance
- Full Australian working rights

- FIFO 15/13 day ex Perth (no interstate flights)
- 12 hour shifts, Day shifts only
- Contract position with competitive day rates $85/hr + Super (paid on all hours)

Do I need previous industry experience?
Yes. Silverstone specialises in recruiting experienced professionals. Most of our roles require relevant industry experience, licences, tickets and the ability to work safely in operational environments.
While entry level opportunities may occasionally become available, they are very limited. If you’re looking to start a career in FIFO or enter the industry without relevant experience, we recommend gaining industry qualifications, licences or transferable experience before applying for specialised roles.
