Silverstone is a leading civil and mining contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure, earthworks, and resource sector projects across Western Australia. With a strong reputation for safety, performance, and project delivery, we are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team in Perth.
As an Estimator at Silverstone, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and delivering high-quality tender submissions for civil, mining, dewatering and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for detailed quantity take-offs, cost planning, subcontractor pricing, risk assessments, and supporting the successful delivery of tenders and projects across WA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare accurate estimates and pricing submissions.
- Preparation of accurate, competitive, and timely estimates across Mechanical, Structural, Piping (SMP), Civil, and associated project scopes.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis for labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor scopes.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
- Prepare comprehensive tender submissions within required deadlines and company standards.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the estimating process.
- Participate in tender review meetings and present estimates to senior management.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, supplier pricing, and construction methodologies within the civil and mining sectors.
- Assist in procurement planning and subcontractor evaluation as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in estimating within civil construction, mining, dewatering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, procurement, and contract administration.
- Experience with estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work effectively under pressure.
