We are seeking an experienced Expeditor to join a growing Mining Wear Parts division playing a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of essential mining consumables and wear parts from global suppliers to site.

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, managing international procurement and logistics activities that keep mining operations running efficiently.

About the Role:

As the Expeditor, you will take ownership of the end-to-end international procurement and logistics process, coordinating shipments from overseas suppliers through to final delivery on site. You will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, finance teams and internal stakeholders to ensure goods arrive on time, within budget, and without disruption to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate international sea and air freight shipments from global suppliers.
  • Track and manage shipments from origin through to final delivery.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents and transport providers to ensure timely movement of goods.
  • Manage supplier pre-payments and work closely with finance to align payment schedules with shipment timelines.
  • Monitor foreign exchange movements and communicate impacts on procurement costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers to ensure lead times and delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Prepare and manage critical import and shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin and customs clearance paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and customs requirements.
  • Perform goods receipting and verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Manage backorders and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.

About You:

You are a proactive and detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems before they become issues. You understand the importance of supply continuity in operational environments and can confidently manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in expediting, procurement, logistics or supply chain coordination
  • Strong knowledge of international freight, shipping processes, customs clearance and Incoterms
  • Experience managing import/export documentation and supplier communications
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across procurement and ERP systems
  • Experience with Coupa or similar purchasing platforms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational capability

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or wear parts supply
  • Knowledge of crusher liners, mill liners, GETs or other mining consumables
  • Experience working with customs brokers and import compliance requirements
  • Understanding of foreign exchange impacts on procurement activities

If you’re looking for a role where your logistics expertise, commercial awareness and attention to detail will be highly valued, we’d love to hear from you.

Yes. Silverstone specialises in recruiting experienced professionals. Most of our roles require relevant industry experience, licences, tickets and the ability to work safely in operational environments.

While entry level opportunities may occasionally become available, they are very limited. If you’re looking to start a career in FIFO or enter the industry without relevant experience, we recommend gaining industry qualifications, licences or transferable experience before applying for specialised roles.

Absolutely. If you don’t find a suitable opportunity, submit your resume and register your interest. Our consultants regularly contact candidates when new roles become available that align with their experience.

Our consultants review your experience and help identify opportunities that best suit your background, qualifications and career goals. We focus on quality matches rather than simply filling vacancies.

Where possible, our consultants provide updates throughout the recruitment process. If you’re shortlisted for a role, we’ll guide you through interviews, compliance, mobilisation and onboarding while keeping you informed every step of the way.
